Dr. Paula Anderson portrait

Dr. Paula Anderson, a proud product of the Brown’s Ferry Community in Georgetown, South Carolina, is serving her first year as Principal of Andrews High School. This 2018-2019 school year serves as her thirty-first year in academia.

Her formal education took place with Georgetown County School District, where she graduated from Pleasant Hill High School. Dr. Anderson received a BS in Early Childhood Education from South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, South Carolina, a M Ed. in Integrated Studies from Cambridge College, Cambridge, Massachusetts, and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix, Phoenix, Arizona.

She commenced her humble beginnings in the field of education in Bridgeport, Connecticut as a pre-kindergarten teacher for two years. Since then, she has taught grades Pre-k, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th in both South Carolina and North Carolina totaling sixteen years. In 2006, Dr. Anderson relocated back to South Carolina and took her first job in Administration as an assistant principal at Georgetown High School for five years. After which, she has served in a variety of capacities to include Curriculum Coach, ADEPT Coordinator, and Director for the Alternative School. It does not matter what capacity she works in, her passion is working with children and ensuring that they reach their maximum potential academically.

In her spare time, Dr. Anderson is committed to community service projects with both organizations – Georgetown Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Order of Eastern Stars, Cherokee Progressive Chapter # 300. In addition, Dr. Anderson enjoys working in any capacity at her church – Greater Mt. Ararat AME Church of Nesmith, South Carolina; traveling; reading; and working with arts and crafts. She is a die-hard “Dallas Cowboys” fan.
